Católica Medical School invites you to participate in the seminar on “From art to science - a journey throught translational investigation”, which will take place on September 21st at 12:30 pm at Católica Medical School Multicare auditorium.

Keynote speaker: Victor Gil, MD, PhD

Victor Gil is an accomplished professional with an illustrious career in medicine, starting with his graduation from Lisbon University's Faculty of Medicine in 1979. He obtained his PhD at the University of Porto in 1999 and a prestigious European Cardiologist Diploma in 2003. His commitment to education and leadership is evident as he directed the Heart Institute (2003-2023) and held roles at Santa Cruz Hospital and The Fernando da Fonseca Hospital. His contributions extend beyond, including the presidency of the Ethics Committee and a tenure as an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Lisbon. He's currently a professor and coordinator at our own Faculty.  

Beyond academia, he was the former President of the Portuguese Society of Cardiology, a driving force behind the Cardiovascular Risk and Thrombosis Center, and coordinator of the Luz Cardiovascular Research Center. His scholarly pursuits are evident with an extensive publication record that includes 100 scientific articles with peer-revision, 9 book chapters and 5 books. As Founder of MAE (Movement Action in Ethics) and Honorary President of the Portuguese Society of Cardiology, Victor continues to shape medicine with expertise and commitment.
