Short Description of the Topic
This session will address the importance of effective and relevant science communication. Specifically, it will raise awareness about the crucial role researchers play in disseminating their work (e.g., publications, participation in conferences) and, naturally, how to do so appropriately and effectively, considering the format (e.g., social media) and the occasion (e.g., scientific posters)..

Facilitators – Diana Mesquita and Diana Seabra
Diana Mesquita is currently an Assistant Professor at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Faculty of Education and Psychology, Porto, Portugal, and is also the Coordinator of the Research Centre for Human Development (CEDH). She holds a PhD in Educational Sciences, specialized in Curriculum Development from University of Minho. Her research interests include: Leadership and School Organization; Competency-Based Curriculum; Active Learning; Project-Based Learning; Teacher Learning; Professional Development; Higher Education; Engineering Education.
Diana Seabra is currently working as an advisor to the Board of Directors at Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Faculty of Education and Psychology, Porto, Portugal, with a focus on marketing and communication. She holds a master's degree in communication sciences (2012) and a bachelor's degree in communication sciences (2009) from the Universidade do Porto, Portugal. Her main interests are science communication, communication strategy, press relations and digital marketing.
