Celebration of 20 years of teaching Social Work

Friday, March 12, 2021 - 11:00

Online

The Degree in Social Work of Faculdade de Filosofia e Ciências Sociais at Braga Regional Center celebrates 20 years. It was in 2001, with the creation of the Faculty of Social Sciences, that this degree joined the training offer. However, in 2015, the Faculty of Social Sciences merged with the former Faculty of Philosophy. This merger gave rise to the current Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences, where the degree is currently taught.

This commemoration will be marked by the realization of several initiatives (symbolically twenty-one) that will be attended by academics, professionals and students, with the aim of reflecting on the most diverse areas of intervention of Social Workers and on the role of the profession in the promotion of more inclusive and cohesive societies, based on the principles of social justice and human rights.
