Transform4Europe is preparing a two-part science communication workshop on the Promotion of science among the youngest based on the Doctor Stella X project.

Stella Hensel-Bielówka will be hosting this workshops, which will take place on Teams, on 14 May 2025, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and 15 May 2025, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The workshops are aimed at researchers,  students and academic staff within the Transform4Europe alliance. Participants who complete the workshop will receive a certificate of attendance issued by T4EU.

About the topic

In 2010, Dr. Stella Hensel-Bielówka together with a colleague from the Institute of Chemistry, decided to prepare laboratory classes in chemistry for children. This evolved and Dr. Stella Hensel-Bielówka created acompletely new, innovative version of classes for children, based on combining chemical experiments with other activities characteristic of early childhood education, such as making art, singing songs or learning rhymes.

Thanks to this formula, we were able to let young children discover how interesting, surprising and colorful chemistry and physics can be, which, we hope, will translate into a better reception of these subjects at school and the choice of these fields of science in the future as a life path.

During the workshops, this series of meetings, its scenarios, best practices and the risks associated with such an idea for educating children, as well as the solutions we used to avoid them, will be discussed.
