Applications open for the VIDA Project - Volunteering at Católica 2024/2025

Applications are now open for the VIDA Project - Volunteering at Católica 2024/2025, aimed at the entire Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) community on the Lisbon campus. The programme is aimed at students, staff, teachers and researchers, providing opportunities for volunteering, both on a regular and one-off basis.

The 2024/2025 edition already has 23 partner organisations confirmed: CASA - Centro de Apoio ao Sem Abrigo, Irmãs Hospitaleiras do Sagrado Coração de Jesus, Apoio à Vida, Lisbon Project Association, ENTRAJUDA - Banco de Bens Doados, Refood Benfica, Sociedade Portuguesa de Esclerose Múltipla, Banco Alimentar Contra a Fome, CRESCER - Associação de Intervenção Comunitária, CAIS, Cáritas Diocesana de Lisboa, Ajuda de Mãe, União Zoófila, Associação de Amigos do Hospital de Santa Maria, among others.

The volunteering activities available are as diverse as the partner institutions - from study support, to food support, to support for people with reduced mobility. There's also driving trishaws (adapted bicycles), taking part in fundraising campaigns, socialising with dogs and cats, as well as activities related to the circular economy or skills volunteering.

The VIDA Project is coordinated in partnership between the Social Responsibility Office and the UCP Chaplaincy, offering comprehensive support to volunteers, from registration to integration into partner social organisations. For UCP students, there is also the possibility of applying for the international FLY/VUELA programme, which offers volunteer and/or service-learning experiences in the summer, in collaboration with European universities.

Recognising the importance of volunteering, the Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Lisbon has been offering its employees 16 hours of volunteering per year since 2023.

Note: Volunteers registered with VIDA in 2023/2024 only need to send an email to voluntariado.sede@ucp.pt, to renew your enrolment.
