Aua Baldé appointed to the UN Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances
Aua Baldé, PhD student and researcher at the Catholic Global School of Law, was appointed, during the 45th session of the Human Rights Council, to the UN Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances.
The objective of the Working Group is essentially to help the families of missing persons to discover their whereabouts, functioning as a channel of communication between the families of the victims and the Governments.
The Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances, established in 1980, was the first thematic mechanism to be created under the United Nations Human Rights Program to address specific human rights violations of a particularly serious nature, practiced worldwide.
