Católica Conference Cycle ends with intervention by Miguel Monjardino

Between May and September 2020, the Online Conference Cycle "The European Union, the United States and Brazil in times of pandemic" took place, promoted by the Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Porto, together with the Escola do Porto of the Faculdade de Direito. Isabel Braga da Cruz, president of the Porto Regional Centre of Universidade Católica Portuguesa, made the opening session of the three conferences.

On May 28, José Manuel Durão Barroso, director of the Centre for European Studies of the Católica and former president of the European Commission, gave a reflection on "The European Union in the face of the challenges of Covid – 19", with moderation of Manuel Fontaine, director of the Escola do Porto of the Faculdade de Direito.

The 2nd Conference "Brazil: the crisis of the pandemic", which took place on July 23, was attended by Pedro Dallari, full professor of international law at the Institute of International Relations of the University of São Paulo, and the moderation of Álvaro Vasconcelos, founder of the DEMOS Forum.

On September 17, the 3rd and final Conference of the Cycle was held under the theme "The impact of the Pandemic on the U.S. presidential elections". Miguel Monjardino, professor at the Institute of Political Studies of Católica and columnist of the Portuguese weekly newspaper Expresso, and moderation of Francisco Jaime Quesado, economist and manager.
