Católica distinguished with award and two honourable mentions for Volunteering Projects
The Programme Fly/Vuela of the Universidade Católica received the 1st Prize in the "Training" category, awarded by the Rede de Voluntariado do Ensino Superior (Higher Education Volunteering Network) and the Santander Foundation. This international volunteering programme coordinated at Católica by the Porto Regional Centre is intercultural, interdisciplinary, intensive and interuniversity, and involves the participation of 7 universities.
The "És Capaz" Project, promoted by the Social Responsibility Office of the head office and the volunteer nucleus of CaSo - Católica Solidarity of the Porto Regional Centre, received an honourable mention, for the merit in the volunteering activity carried out.
The 3rd National Meeting of the Volunteering Network in Higher Education (R-VES) took place at the Nursing School of Coimbra, which began with a statement "Building a more caring country", including the sharing of various experiences and projects related to volunteering in higher education.
The Universidade Católica was represented on the panel about “Care and Good Treatment within the scope of volunteering,” moderated by the Advisor to the Rectory for Social Responsibility and Coordinator of the Social Responsibility Office, Rita Paiva e Pona, and with the participation of the Executive Coordinator of CUIDAR Project, Ana Sofia Marques and the Researcher Joana Arsénio.
Rita Valadas, President of Cáritas Portuguesa and João Pereira, General Secretary of Cáritas Portuguesa, took part in the panel dedicated to the theme "Networking", upon invitation of the Universidade Católica.
The UCP has been part of the Higher Education Volunteer Network since October 2019 and has been a member of the Network's coordination team since April 2022.
