CATÓLICA-LISBON professor appointed Senior Visiting Researcher at the University of Leeds

Pedro Encarnação, professor at CATÓLICA-LISBON has been appointed Senior Visiting Research Researcher at the School of Sociology and Social Policy, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Leeds, for the period 2022 to 2025. This appointment formalises the continued collaboration with Professor Angharad Beckett, Deputy Director of the Centre for Disability Studies, world leader in the fields of sociology of disability, disability politics and policy, disability law and human rights, inclusive design and Deaf Studies.

The professor will contribute with his expertise in rehabilitation technology to identify new interdisciplinary research paths, from which it is expected that joint research projects that combine the sociological and human rights perspective on disability with the field of rehabilitation technology aiming at holistic contributions towards a more inclusive society, will emerge.
