Católica professor coordinates study that warns of the prevalence of extreme situations of exclusion in Portugal
On 18 March, Nuno Alves, professor at the Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics, presented the Cáritas Portuguesa study ‘Poverty and Social Exclusion in Portugal: A vision from Cáritas’, which ‘seeks to read reality by focusing on those who live in situations of poverty or severe deprivation in Portugal.’
The study, presented as part of National Caritas Week, warns that ‘in Portugal, the prevalence of extreme situations of exclusion is structurally high.’
The professor is a member of the Board of Cáritas Portuguesa and Coordinator of the Observatory of Poverty and Fraternity, responsible for developing the study.
