Católica receives Pope Francis for meeting with university students

Universidade Católica Portuguesa will receive the visit of Pope Francis on August 3, at 9 am, for the Meeting with University Students.

At this meeting, the Holy Father will listen to the testimonies of refugee students, welcomed by the University, and students involved in the implementation of the encyclical Laudato si', the Global Compact on Education and the initiative "The Economy of Francesco". This will be followed by a speech by His Holiness, prayer and the blessing of the first stone of the new campus, Campus Veritati, which will be located on the north side of the UCP headquarters in Lisbon

The Campus Veritati will host the new facilities of the Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics (CLSBE) and several highly technological infrastructures, including the Innovation Centre - E-Lab, the Multifunctional Conference Centre and an auditorium with a capacity for 800 people and the new facilities of the Rectory.

With construction beginning in 2023, the new campus, designed by the architect Carrilho da Graça, will allow CLSBE to triple its current physical capacity and the requalification of the infrastructures of all Academic Units.

This meeting of the Pope with young university students at Universidade Católica Portuguesa will also feature the participation of the UCP Choir and the presence of more than 7,000 people, mostly students, but also national and international personalities from the academic, artistic, civil society and Catholic Church sectors, in an event with strict security measures.
