D. José Pedro da Silva Library hosts the exhibition "Fantomas with Art"
The D. José Pedro da Silva Library at the Viseu Regional Centre, hosts the exhibition "Fantomas with Art" from February 26 to March 20.
This initiative, promoted by the Faculty of Dental Medicine of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, is part of the celebrations marking 5 years of FMD | A History | 24 Years of Purpose. The exhibition presents a collection of 15 fantomas, painted and decorated with the participation of local primary schools.
With the renovation of the faculty’s former preclinical laboratory, an opportunity arose to give new life to the fantomas—the mannequins used for training future dentists. The collection of numerous drawings created by students evolved into a true collaborative ‘mosaic.’ The final result, which also involved students from Academi@STEM in Mangualde, is a unique collection symbolizing sustainability, knowledge, and the connection between the Faculty of Dental Medicine and the school community.
To further engage the school community, 10 fantomas were raffled among primary schools in Viseu and will be awarded during the exhibition’s closing ceremony, which will take place on World Oral Health Day, March 20, 2025, at 2:30 PM.
The exhibition will be displayed on the 2nd floor of the library, with guided tours for school groups, where oral health professionals and students from the faculty will lead interactive and educational activities, combining knowledge and creativity with a focus on oral health.
