In pursuit of its mission to promote awareness about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set out in the UN's 2030 Agenda, Universidade Católica Portuguesa is once again offering two SDG courses for the next semester. These courses are available to Bachelor's and Master's students.

The course is worth 5 ECTS and will be taught in English. It covers topics such as Portugal's relationship with the sea, the strategic dimensions of the ocean, marine biodiversity and biotechnology, the blue economy, entrepreneurship and partnerships for the ocean, as well as the legal protection of the marine environment.
The second course focuses on SDG 4 - Quality Education and is taught online from April 8 to May 14, on Mondays and Tuesdays, from 17:30 to 18:45. It will confer 3 ECTS and will be taught in Portuguese. It covers topics such as public policies in education, quality education indicators, ethics, social responsibility and sustainability in educational institutions, conflict, peace and human rights in education, inclusive education, global citizenship and lifelong learning.
These courses are part of the University's "SDG Curricular Units" strategic initiative, which aims to integrate optional courses dedicated to the study and understanding of the SDGs into the curricula of students.
This initiative was recently recognised as an exemplary practice by the UN. The aim of these courses is to address issues that are crucial to students' understanding of the SDGs.
