Ethics Forum of Católica Porto Business School discusses Ethics and Hybrid Work

Católica Porto Business School held the annual conference of the Ethics Forum that took place on November 22nd  and had as its theme "Ethics and Hybrid Work: Reflections and Reflections".

A session that allowed reflecting on the survey "Ethics and Hybrid Work: in the Aftermath of the Pandemic", previously carried out, which counted more than 1200 answers, and on the Collective Book "Proximities and Distances: Ethical Challenges of Hybrid Work".

The conference was opened by Rui Sousa, Dean of Católica Porto Business School, followed by the lecture "Ethical Hybrid Workplace: Challenges and Opportunities" by Muel Kaptein.  There was also room for a round table discussion "Ethics and Hybrid Workplace: Perspectives in Dialogue", moderated by Sofia Salgado Pinto, lecturer at CPBS, which counted with the presence of: Gonçalo Quadros, Founder and Chairman of Critical Software; José Teixeira, Chairman of the Board of Directors of dstgroup; Maria Manuel Araújo Jorge, Researcher at the Institute of Philosophy of the School of Arts of the  Porto; and Sofia Reis Jorge, Administrator of ALTRI. The conference was closed by Isabel Braga da Cruz, Pró-Rector of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa.

Helena Gonçalves, lecturer at Católica Porto Business School and coordinator of the Ethics Forum revealed that this was an "unavoidable topic, on which it was necessary to investigate, promote knowledge and reflection". Thus, in a universe of 1226 respondents, it was concluded that hybrid work is responsible for a significant improvement in the dimensions of health and well-being. In fact, around 70% of people who find themselves in this model of work "perceive improvements on a financial, mental and physical level, compared to only around 20% of those who are in face-to-face mode", stresses the study's coordinator.

It is worth highlighting that the Ethics Forum is a space for meeting and reflection on organisational ethics that aims to promote business ethics through the exchange of experiences, joint reflection and the creation and sharing of knowledge.
