Eversheds FCB premeia melhor aluno da Católica em Cumprimento e Não Cumprimento das Obrigações

Chak Wa Kong, a final year Law student, is the winner of the first Eversheds School Prize, which honours the merit and individual performance of students at the Lisbon School of the Faculty of Law of Universidade Católica Portuguesa in the area of Obligations Law.

"It was with great pleasure that Eversheds Sutherland FCB partnered with the Lisbon School of the Faculty of Law to establish the 'Eversheds School Prize' awarded to the best student in the subject of Performance and Non-Performance of Obligations," says the Faculty of Law's latest partner.

For the student, receiving this award from Rodrigo Almeida Dias, Co-Managing Partner of Eversheds Sutherland FCB, had a special meaning: "This award is a dream come true and a demonstration that dreams are achieved through hard work," he says.

"It is with the greatest honour that I received the Eversheds Prize. My first heartfelt thanks go to Professor Ana Taveira da Fonseca for everything. I'm already short of words to thank her. A second, equally warm thank you goes to Professor João Tiago Morais Antunes. Thanks to his excellent teaching, I fell in love with the subject. I was motivated to investigate the most important topics in Obligations Law."

After obtaining the best mark in the subject of Compliance and Non-Compliance of Obligations, Chak Wa Kong was able to do an internship at Eversheds FCB "where I learnt a lot", he reveals.

"I am eternally grateful to all my bosses and colleagues at the office, who are exemplary, for all their dedication and commitment to my internship. They allowed me to put my knowledge into practice by solving real cases." He added: "The internship was an unprecedented and enriching experience on several levels, both for my future legal career and for my academic development."

In conclusion, he thanks "from the bottom of my heart, my alma mater, the Portuguese School of Macau, which cultivated my interest in law. As José Saramago said, man stumbles, then he walks, then he runs, one day he will fly. The excellent faculty and students make the Faculty of Law of Universidade Católica Portuguesa a dreamland where we are given the opportunity to fly. I'm very proud to be a student at UCP's Faculty of Law!"

With this protocol, Eversheds FCB joins Germano Marques da Silva & Associados, Sérvulo & Associados, Amaral Cabral & Associados, Cuatrecasas, CS'Associados, Ferreira Pinto Cardigos Advogados and Lektou Advogados e notários on the list of partner organisations that reward the merit and excellence of Cat.
