Faculty of Education and Psychology promotes a survey about remote work

The Research Centre for Human Development  (CEDH) of the Faculty of Education and Psychology (FEP) of Universidade Católica Portuguesa, in Porto, is conducting a survey into the challenges of remote work, the result of the pandemic context of Covid-19, within the Work@Home project.

In order to know the perceptions of all those who were suddenly challenged to face home office, this survey includes questions about the experiences with home office during the pandemic period, namely the difficulties felt, the strategies used and the support received by the company.

The Work@Home, a project through which this study is included, aims to analyze the labor relationships challenged by the context of Covid-19 so that through the data can support the implementation of practices appropriate to the remote work regime.

Filipa Sobral, researcher and coordinator of the research team of the project, explains: "In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, remote work has clearly emerged as one of the best alternatives to avoid unnecessary social contacts. However, most companies and their employees have had to adapt quickly to this new reality, facing many challenges related to infrastructure, equipment or preparation of their work teams."

The survey aims to characterize the perceptions of workers, in view of organizational support, mobilized competencies, relationships with leaders and general well-being, and the perceptions of team leaders, in view of the challenges of managing a team at a distance and the strategies implemented. Participation in this study is voluntary, anonymous and the information collected is intended solely for research purposes. The data will be treated collectively.

The project partners are the Porto Regional Centre and the Braga Regional Centre of Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Finantech, Fundação AEP, Multipessoal, Symington Family Estates and Wincode.
