Institute of Management and Health Organisations partners with Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Vale de Besteiros for Service-Learning projects

The Institute of Management and Health Organizations (IGOS) of the Universidade Católica has partnered with Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Vale de Besteiros under the Learning-Service (ApS) projects, "InoDar: A Tool to Help" and "Responsible Managers".

20 students and 3 professors from the Viseu Regional Center, UCP, will participate in the projects that encompass 3 curricular units of the Bachelor in Management taught by IGOS: "Innovation and Change Management", "Social Psychology" and "Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility".

The projects will allow students to apply the skills acquired in the degree in a real context and, simultaneously, to develop transversal skills, namely empathy, responsibility, solidarity, cooperation and initiative.

In parallel, through a consultancy and partnership process, it aims to promote innovation, social and economic inclusion and the policies of Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Vale de Besteiros, as well as to encourage the adoption of sustainable practices.

ApS, in practice at UCP since 2020, is a teaching methodology that combines academic learning with service to the community so that students are formed, personally and professionally, from working with the real needs of the community.
