International ranking honours Universidade Católica Portuguesa researchers

Arménio Rego, Célia M. Manaia, Manuela Pintado, Paula Castro and Paula Teixeira, researchers and lecturers at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, are among the best in the country according to Research.com, a platform aimed at scientists, which highlights researchers in rankings from a wide range of areas, both at a global and national level.

Four researchers from the Centre for Biotechnology and Fine Chemistry of the School of Biotechnology of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa are highlighted. In the Best Scientists Ranking in the area of Biology and Biochemistry, researchers Manuela Pintado, Paula M. L. Castro and Célia M. Manaia are among the best in the country. In the Best Scientists Ranking in the area of Environmental Sciences, researcher Paula M. L. Castro is highlighted. In the Best Scientists Ranking in the area of Microbiology, researcher Paula Teixeira is highlighted.

The Best Scientists Ranking in the area of Social Sciences and Humanities features researcher Armémnio Rego, lecturer and researcher at Católica Porto Business School.  

The Research.com ranking of the best researchers in different research areas is based on combined data from various data sources, including OpenAlex and CrossR. The position in the ranking is based on a researcher's D-index (discipline H-index), which includes only articles and citation metrics for an examined discipline. Bibliometric data for metrics is based on citations obtained on 21 November 2023.
