Last Call for Sustainable Heritage Competitions

Transform4Europe has extended the application period for the T4EU Sustainable Heritage Competition until April 14. Aimed at MA and PhD Students from the Transform4Europe Alliance, this event will occur between 7th to 11th July 2025, in Trieste, Italy, during The Festival of European Culture and Languages.

The student competition will focus on "Environmental Heritage and Generations," which will provide an opportunity to discuss how heritage can serve to raise awareness of climate change, recover stories and experiences of older generations, and facilitate exchanges between them and younger generations.

The Challenge

The challenge for students will be to explore the role of cultural and creative organisations in developing new models for dissemination, as well as raising awareness about climate change and its impact on our material and tangible Cultural and Landscape Heritage, within the civil society. Each group will devise a cultural project, focusing on the theme of Environmental Heritage and Generations and aimed at engaging specific target audiences. Projects should have local relevance but be replicable in similar contexts, involve citizen science activities, incorporate methodologies for collecting and preserving intergenerational memories and adopt innovative and environmentally sustainable strategies.

Awards

The winning group will receive a €2,000 prize and the possibility of project refinement or implementation with mentorship from the Bora Museum (Museo della Bora).
