Library of the Braga Regional Centre hosts a reading of the book “O homem que via no escuro”

The Library of the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences, Braga Regional Centre of Universidade Católica Portuguesa, hosts a reading of the book "O homem que via no escuro". The event will take place on May 23rd, at 5:30pm.

This short book is a portrait of Bruno Candé, the first person in Portugal whose death resulted in a conviction for a crime motivated by racial hatred. Candé, 39, actor, Lisboner, father of three, died because of racism: a word he didn't believe in. He, a man who saw in the dark, beyond the stigmas of poverty and racial discrimination.

The event is organized by the Voluntaria*te team from the Universidade Católica, as part of the "Livros & Jesuítas" initiative. Through an informal model, the main goal is to promote the incentive to read, intending it to be a contribution to the qualification, creativity, and innovation of the academic community.
