Master in Management from Católica Porto Business School awarded 2nd place in Economics Award of Porto

Frederico Maciel, Master in Management from Católica Porto Business School, was distinguished with the 2nd place of the Porto Economy Award, promoted by Porto City Hall.

"Development of a Data Report Structure for Porto City Council: Literature review and benchmark analysis on best dashboard design practices" was the title of the distinguished work that had the guidance of the teacher Alberto Castro. "The theme is inserted in the pressing need of the public sector to organize itself and use Information Technologies and Data Analysis to leverage social and economic development in Portugal", explains Frederico Maciel.

The award distinguishes, on an annual basis, academic dissertations or other original research work, which focus on a theme of relevance and interest for the city's economy.

The first prize was awarded to Marta Sousa Brenha, Master in Economics from the Faculty of Economics (FEP) of the University of Porto, with the topic "Why are some cities more 'smart sustainable' than others? - The Portuguese panorama" and the third to a group of post-graduate students in Real Estate Management at Porto Business School (Maria José Alves, Miguel Fernandes, José Rosa and Ana Félix), with "The potential of digital nomads in Porto's real estate market".

"This award represents the connection that the City Council wants to have with the Academy, in two ways: on the one hand, the stimulus to the study of the city and, on the other hand, that allows the creation of a database to all the problems that are analysed based on the city's economy", explained the Councillor for Economy, Employment and Entrepreneurship of the Porto City Council, Ricardo Valente, during the award ceremony that took place on May 8, at Entre Quintas.
