Miguel Poiares Maduro was awarded the Ethic Award

Miguel Poiares Maduro, Dean of Católica Global School of Law, has been awarded the prestigious Ethic Award at the Oscar Pomilio Forum, held in Pescara, Italy. The Forum aims to gather intellectuals and representatives from various fields and cultures to explore the ethical and moral foundations of globalized societies and foster conscious and humane development.

The Ethic Award, which embodies the core objectives of the Forum, is presented annually to internationally recognized individuals who have demonstrated exceptional abilities in interpreting and promoting ethics and morals in innovative ways within their respective domains. This year, the Scientific Committee of the Oscar Pomilio Forum praised Miguel Poiares Maduro for his dedication to advancing ethics within public institutions through his extensive studies, research, and activities.

The Ethic Award has previously been bestowed upon distinguished individuals from various fields who have exemplified the values the Oscar Pomilio Forum promote. Previous recipients include personalities such as Ginger Lew, former consultant of the White House and President of NASDAQ, Kristina Persson, minister of the strategies for future development of Sweden, Kathleen Kennedy, the cultural ambassador of the United States of America, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, former professional basketball player, Daniel Libeskind, Architect of the New Ground Zero, among others.

In addition to the Ethic Award, Miguel Poiares Maduro was previously conferred with the doctorate Honoris Causa from Keio University in Tokyo and honoured by the President of the Portuguese Republic with the Order of Sant'Iago da Espada. His achievements include winning the Rowe and Maw Prize, the Prize Obiettivo Europa for the best Ph.D. thesis at the European University Institute, and the Gulbenkian Science Prize.
