Nunes Correa Verdades de Faria Awards 2024 give honourable mention to the Public Bathouse Nursing Project

The project ‘Nursing Consultation at the Alcântara Public Bathhouse - Public Bathouse Nursing’ led by Amélia Simões Figueiredo, Director of the School of Nursing (Lisbon) was awarded an honourable mention in the Nunes Correa Verdades de Faria Awards 2024 for its innovative and socially inclusive approach to providing healthcare for the elderly.

These awards, established in 1987 by Enrique Mantero Belard, aim to recognise the work of individuals and institutions in Portugal that stand out in the care and progress of medicine applied to the elderly and in the advancement of the treatment of heart disease.

The ceremony took place on 18 December at the Faria Mantero residence, and was attended by dozens of guests, including the Ombudsman of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa, Paulo Sousa, the institution's administrator and chairman of the awards jury, David Lopes, board member Ângela Guerra, and the awards' judges: Jaime Branco, Fr Vitor Melícias, João Pedro Pereira Gorjão Clara and Joaquina Madeira.

The event honoured the 2024 winners, whose projects and initiatives exemplify their commitment to improving the lives of the elderly and advancing medicine. This year's event was special because it took place on Enrique Mantero Belard's birthday.
