Paula Coimbra Receives Bronze Medal at the Primus Inter Pares Awards

This is a historic achievement, marking the first time in 20 years that a finalist has a background in the health sector, a remarkable recognition for the nursing profession.

Paula Coimbra, 28, alumna at the Master's programme in Medical-Surgical Nursing: Nursing the Critically Ill Person, at the Nursing School (Lisbon) of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, won the bronze medal in the 20th edition of the Primus Inter Pares Award.

The Santander and Expresso initiative highlights young leaders with the potential to transform the future, offering the winners the chance to study for an MBA in Portugal or abroad. Paula Coimbra plans to use this opportunity to promote entrepreneurship in the health sector in Portugal, reinforcing innovation and leadership in this field.

Paula Coimbra's recognition emphasises the importance of integrating nursing into leadership and management discussions, demonstrating that healthcare professionals can play a central role in developing innovative solutions to the challenges of today's society.
