Professor João Borges de Assunção comments on the state of the economy and the Supplementary Budget at Radio Renascença

The academic director of the Lisbon MBA of Universidade Católica Portuguesa, João Borges de Assunção, was present on the Rádio Renascença show "As três da manhã" to comment on the state of the Portuguese economy and the Supplementary Budget that began to be debated by Parliament on June 16, 2020.

"It's a very short-term document. It only deals with today's situation until the end of the year and is therefore a document that does not present a certain medium-term strategy". He added that "since we have this big problem of public debt, it was very important to see what the trajectory was, at least in the two or three year horizon".

João Borges de Assunção foresees a great economic weight, which the country will not be able to bear due to the mandatory confinement. He also argues that "life will have to return to normal, despite the risks of the pandemic".
