T4EU Science Café: Católica discusses the role of culture in the face of war

The Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) and Transform4Europe (T4EU) are holding the first edition of the Science Café on June 25 at 2:30 p.m. (WEST) in Auditorium 3 of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon.

‘Is War Reparabale (by Culture)?’ is the question being debated by Christiane Solte-Gresser, Director of the Käte Hamburger Research Centre for Cultural Practices of Reparation (CURE) at the University of Saarland, and Isabel Capeloa Gil, President of UCP and Full Professor of Culture Studies.

Designed to highlight the importance of research in shaping public and corporate policies, this initiative showcases the diverse research areas covered by T4EU. The Science Café also aims to bridge the gap between academia and the broader community, fostering dialogue, knowledge exchange, and collaboration in support of evidence-based decision-making and societal progress.

In this first edition, the discussion will focus on the role of culture in addressing, and potentially repairing, the impacts of war.

The event is free to attend, subject to registration, and is part of the XIV Lisbon Summer School for the Study of Culture, centred on the theme ‘Culture at War’. It will be broadcast live on Youtube.
