UCP participates in the European University & Culture Summit

Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) will be present at the European University & Culture Summit, an online conference organised under the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the EU, which will take place on March 29 and 30. The conference will be attended by Peter Hanenberg, vice-rector of UCP, and Nuno Crespo, dean of the Escola das Artes.

On the first day of the event, Peter Hanenberg will moderate panel 3 on "A scientific and artistic worldview", which aims to address "benefits of promoting, at higher education institutions, a culture at once scientific and artistic - a common creative culture".

In panel 6, under the theme "The Arts as a driver for community and regional development", which takes place during the second day of the event, Nuno Crespo, Dean of the Escola das Artes, will be one of the speakers.

The European University & Culture Summit comes from the idea that “providing higher education ecosystems — students, researchers, teaching and non-teaching staff, as well as communities outside the campi — free access to cultural heritage, exposure to contemporary artistic discourses, and opportunities for expression through artistic experiences will contribute to the construction of a university culture at once scientific and artistic, guided by the principles of constant innovation, attention to the Other and ecological responsibility”.

This conference can be watched on Youtube and on the event's platform, starting at 9 a.m. More information available here.
