Transform4Europe is hosting an online Training & Experiences Sharing Session on "How to make science more engaging and sociable?" on April 15. Aimed at PhD students, researchers and staff from T4EU's partner universities, this training session takes place on Microsoft Teams from 8:00 to 14:45.

The session consists of two parts. The first part is dedicated to citizen science and will focus on the presentation of its concept and main principles, limitations and problems that could be encountered during citizen science projects. The trainers will also share their experience in implementing citizen science projects or related activities in different countries and universities.

The second part is dedicated to improving science communication competencies. The program comprises theoretical and practical approaches, covering topics such as the complexity of science communication, ethics in the field, navigating visual misinformation, and utilizing social media tools for effective communication. Led by experts from various institutions, the program aims to enhance participants' skills in conveying scientific information and navigating the challenges of communication in today's diverse media landscape.

The University of Silesia in Katowice is organising the third edition of Transform4Europe Week from October 21 to 25, under the theme ‘Communication for a better future’.  

Over five days, students from the 10 partner universities can participate in various activities, such as classes, sports competitions, film nights, and culinary and mental health workshops.

T4EU Week is taking place this year at the same time as Transform4Europe's annual Strategic Assembly, the Transform4Europe Global Partnership Forum and the Transform4Europe Cultural Heritage Conference, which will bring together T4EU rectors, researchers, faculty and staff from the Alliance's partner universities.

The ‘Around Writing’ series comprises three online workshops open to any doctoral student from UCP and T4EU partner universities.

Aimed at being a platform for discussion, experimentation and collaboration, the workshops are intended to boost students' existing knowledge while allowing them to try new tools to start their writing process with resources, motivation, purpose, and, above all, pleasure in engaging with their writing.

The sessions will happen between October 23 and 31 and registration is open until October 21.

Session 1 | October 23: ‘Feedbacking me & my writing: the power of clearly communicating what works and what doesn't work for you’

Session 2 | October 29: ‘Designing your own home brew reading for writing (and not the other way around!)’

Session 3 | October 31: ‘ A.I. & You: effective prompts for ChatGPT, authenticity, and creativity in scientific writing.’

Universidade Católica Portuguesa organises the first Transform4Europe Service-Learning workshop in a hybrid format on October 29 and 30 at the Porto Regional Centre.

This workshop aims to train academic staff on the design and implementation of curricular Service-Learning.

Service-learning combines educational goals with community service, providing a pragmatic, progressive learning experience while meeting societal needs.

Some of the topics covered in the workshop include the benefits of this methodology, the implementation phases and the connection to the Sustainable Development Goals.

Universidade Católica Portuguesa and the University of Silesia in Katowice, are organizing a Global Partnership Forum meeting under the theme Water: A Catalyst for Global Partnerships and Sustainable Development, on October 22, in Katowice, Poland.

The meeting, within the framework of the Transform4Europe (T4EU) Strategic Assembly, aims to bring together stakeholders from different backgrounds and sectors to discuss the eponymous issue of water, both salt and fresh, examining the role of water in connecting communities and institutions in Europe and around the world.

Transform4Europe is organizing the 4th edition of the Science Café on the topic of “Universities and Heritage” on January 29, from 12 pm to 1 pm.

The event is part of the “Letters, Heritage, Identities Roundtable & Matchmaking Event”, which will take place at the University of Sofia, Bulgaria, from January 28 to 30, 2025, and in which two students from Universidade Católica Portuguesa will participate.

The debate focuses on preserving cultural heritage through modern technologies and digitalization.

The event is open to the public and accessible via streaming, subject to registration.

Universidade Católica Portuguesa, in collaboration with the University of Saarland and Transform4Europe Alliance, is pleased to announce the workshop "Become a Knowledge Entrepreneur." The course, scheduled for March 14 and 15, 2024, at the Lisbon Campus of UCP, aims to foster entrepreneurial skills among students, employees, and the academic community interested in the topic.

The workshop, entirely in English, will offer a unique experience of reflection on knowledge, skills, and abilities, providing strategic networking discussions.  Besides, it will allow participants to explore innovative ideas to advance social, ecological, and digital transformations.

This activity is open to the entire academic community interested in the subject, representing an enriching opportunity for all participants. With limited participants available (25), registrations must be made exclusively through the online form available below. The event is free, and each participant will receive a certificate.
