The NICE_Lab (Neuroscience for Innovation, Communication and Education_Lab), part of the Translational Neuroscience Platform of the Centre for Interdisciplinary Health Research (CIIS), is organising a "Meetings by NICE_Lab" on 1 March at 15h00.

This event, on the theme of "Research with explicit placebos in the treatment of chronic low back pain", will be attended by Cláudia Carvalho, guest of Rita Canaipa.

The Research Institute for Spirituality and Health (RISH) of the University of Bern in Switzerland, in collaboration with the Portuguese Catholic University through the Research Center for Theology and Religion Studies (CITER) of the Faculty of Theology and the Nursing Research Platform of the Center for Multidisciplinary Research in Health (CIIS) of the Institute of Health Sciences, promotes the 7th ECRSH - European Conference on Religion, Spirituality and Health on 27th and 28th May 2021, in online format.

The main theme of the conference will be: "Aging, Spirituality and Health". The conference program has been condensed into 2 days, with keynote addresses, parallel sessions, and free papers (including poster presentations).

Deadline for abstract submission and early registration is April 15th 2021.

In the context of the project "MAIEC- Community Empowerment and Nursing Decision-Making" hosted at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Health at UCP, the first congress will be held, on 28 and 29 October, with the evidence produced in the four areas of the project: "MAIEC and School Communities", "MAIEC and Hospital Communities", "MAIEC and Environmental Processes" and "MAIEC and Observatories of Nursing Diagnoses". Researchers and collaborators of the project will be the voice of this evidence, in these various contexts.

The Congress will include the International Meeting "Challenges of Climate Change: Nursing as Innovation", featuring distinguished national and international speakers from the areas of Biology (Doctor Ulisses Miranda Azeiteiro from the University of Aveiro), Architecture (Doctor Robert Ryan from the University of Massachusetts, EUS), Nursing (Drª Maria João Costa, CIIS FCT scholarship holder) and Politics (Drª Inês Sousa Real, PAN MP). There will also be an international conference, given by the world reference in Community Empowerment and Public Health, Dr. Glenn Laverack, from the University of Trento, Italy.

Católica Medical School and Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Health (CIIS) of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa are organising a seminar "Exploring evolutionary immunogenomics: Lessons from our ancestors and past pandemics", on 14 July, at 12 pm.

This event will be presented by Paulo Bettencourt and will be attended by Luís Barreiro (PhD).

Luis Barreiro received his undergraduate and Master’s degrees in Biotechnology at Lusófona University, Lisbon, Portugal. In 2008, he obtained his PhD in Human Population Genetics from the University of Paris VII, followed by a post-doc in the Department of Human Genetics at the University of Chicago.

The National Meeting of the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Health (CIIS) will be held from 31 March to 1 April, under the theme "Interdisciplinary Health Care".

The event, which will take place at the Católica Medical School is intended exclusively for researchers and members of the five platforms that make up CIIS, the CatólicaMed, the Translational Neuroscience, the Nursing Research, the Salivatec and the Precision Dental Medicine.
