The Centre for Research in Theology and Studies of Religion (CITER) of the Faculty of Theology, in partnership with Espaço Vita, organises a conference on "Media Literacy in the Catholic Church: the use of digital social networks" on 25 October at 21h00.

The conference, which will be attended by Miguel Mário Lopes Neto (Universidad de Huelva), aims to discuss the themes of educational processes and the skills necessary to communicate better and be present in the digital world - which is Timeless, Infinite, Testimonial, Identitary and of Proximity -, requiring the development of knowledge about this space and its characteristics, so that those who use it know how to Access, Analyse, Evaluate, Create and Communicate.

The ecclesial Magisterium has, during recent decades, pointed out ways in which this "educommunicative" process can be understood, considering that Christians must look at the media as spaces of witness, as a New Forum/New Agora and as a Space for Communication.

The Centre for Research in Theology and Studies of Religion (CITER) is organising the conference "North-South Dialogues", with the participation of Professor Ivan Domingues (Postgraduate Programme in Philosophy at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil).

Ivan Domingues will discuss the theme of his book Filosofia no Brasil: Legados e perspectivas - Ensaios metafilosóficos. The conference will be followed by a debate with Portuguese philosophers.

The event will take place on 11 October at 3pm at UCP's Lisbon campus and online via zoom-colibri.

Next Tuesday, May 19 at 9:30 p.m., Teresa Bartolomei, researcher at the Centro de Investigação em Teologia e Estudos de Religião (CITER), will participate in an online discussion, together with two other speakers, in an initiative of the movement "Cuidar da Casa Comum", which aims to celebrate the Laudato Si week.

Teresa Bartolomei will speak about "Da teologia da maldição a uma teologia do ecocídio".

"O diálogo entre a vida e a fé nos dispositivos digitais" is the theme of the 6th edition of Clique ao Toque, which the Faculdade de Teologia and the Centro de Investigação em Teologia e Estudos de Religião are organising with the support of the National Secretariat for Christian Education.

Professors Luís M. Figueiredo Rodrigues and Sónia Catarina da Silva Cruz (Faculdade de Teologia) are the coordinators of the event.

The meeting, structured in two sessions, will take place on January 30 and February 20, 2021, between 9:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. With accreditation by the CCPFC, it includes, in addition to the conferences, workshops where some practices and proposals for the use of digital resources for education and evangelization are presented.

This meeting was planned to be on-site. However, in the context of the pandemic crisis in which we are living, if the situation does not allow it, communications and workshops will take on a different form of communication, prioritising the videoconferencing regime using the Zoom-Colibri Platform.

On 23rd and 24th May a Seminar will take place, within the scope of the Chair of Biblical, Jewish and Christian Studies, entitled "Envision Together the Subject of the Feminine (From a Jewish and Christian Approach)".

This seminar will be led by Prof. Tova Forti of Ben-Gurion University of Negev (Beersheba - Israel) and Prof. Luisa Almendra (CITER - Portuguese Catholic University) who will make a presentation of the Jewish and Christian perspective of the feminine in the Jewish Scriptures, opening a space for reading and dialogue on the theme with the participants.

The seminar is open to the entire academic community and to the general public interested in deepening how Judaism and Christianity read the theme of the feminine in the Jewish Scriptures (OT); and how the possibility of a diversity and complementarity of readings enriches and deepens the debate.

Together with the Centre for Studies in Religious History (UCP-CEHR), CITER is co-organising the annual colloquium of the network of researchers "Religion in Multiple Modernities" (ReliMM) on 3 July at 2.30pm.

Bringing together researchers who study religion and religions in the context of multiple modernities, this network aims to contribute to the development of an interdisciplinary environment, facilitating the creation of contexts for circulation, exchange and co-operation. This community is organised on the basis of a collaborative project that brings together various research units, represented by coordinating researchers.

The Colloquium, which is free to attend, is open to anyone interested in the thematic areas presented.
