On 13 April, the second stage of the Literary Olympics will take place, on the figure and literary work of Eça de Queirós. 

All those registered will receive a new link to access the surveys on a date close to the event. The link for the second session, on 13 April, will be sent to all those registered by 11 April. Failure to complete any of the first three surveys does not invalidate the possibility of competing (although it does limit the possibility of adding up the best scores).

In order to recognise the commitment of the schools and Portuguese and Portuguese Literature teachers, who are also called upon to encourage research and the interest of their students, and to reward the merit of the knowledge expressed by the students, the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences of the Portuguese Catholic University - Braga is preparing a gala to award diplomas and prizes as the final session. 

The sum of the marks accumulated in the four sessions will determine the results and the awarding of prizes (Tablets, Kindles and books) not only to the best-placed Students, but also to their Teachers and Schools.

To qualify as a contestant, students simply have to register on the competition platform after filling in the Pre-Registration Form. Those who have already done so have already guaranteed their presence, but those who still wish to do so are very welcome.

PRE-REGISTRATION

On September 15, João Manuel Duque, Pro-Rector of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) and President of the Braga Regional Centre, will receive the "Árvore da Vida - Padre Manuel Antunes" Award.

The public session to present the Prize established by the National Secretariat of the Pastoral of Culture, will include an analysis of his work and of the "most relevant aspects of his thought", by João Carlos Loureiro, professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra. This will be followed by an intervention on "the main problems and perspectives in the current situation of theology", by the Pro-Rector.

D. João Lavrador, president of the Episcopal Commission for Culture, Cultural Goods and Social Communications and Comendador Ilídio Pinho will be responsible for delivering the award at the Espaço Vita, in Braga.

The seminar "Brain and Spirituality: Perspectives and Challenges”, organized by the Centre for Philosophical and Humanistic Studies (CEFH) and the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences (FFCS), will take place on the 7th of October at 2.30 p.m.

The event will address the issue of whether there are similarities or differences in the brain activation of people involved in spiritual exercises or mindfulness intervention. It is organized within the scope of the project "Neuroanatomical correlates of wellbeing in a mindfulness and religious exercises program", funded by Fundação Bial.

The event will be hosted by Steven Gouveia, CEFH researcher, and will count on the presence of several professors and researchers from the medical, neuroscience, psychology and philosophy fields.
