On October 28, at 6:30 pm (WET), will take place the OpenSession of the Master in Asian Studies.
Intitled “Where Have All the Marxists Gone: Pakistani Leftists in the 1960s and Today”, the session will be held by Professor Stephen Lyon of the Aga Khan University in the room Descobrimentos Portugueses.
Professor Stephen Lyon is a cultural anthropologist with an interest in social organisation, cultural systems, conflict and development in rural and urban Pakistan. He has published on the intersection of culture and politics and the consequences of these on economic and environmental systems. He is the President of the Society for Anthropological Sciences and the Treasurer of the Pakistan Studies Group, that organises the annual Pakistan Workshop in the Lake District. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Social Science Computer Review (a SAGE journal).
