Adult Competences Survey: Católica has already started conducting interviews

The Adult Competences Survey, which is being conducted by the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, started to be conducted throughout the country this weekend. In this central part of the study of PIAAC - International Programme for the Evaluation of Adult Competences, 5 thousand people will be interviewed over the next few months.

The interviews will be carried out at the home of the respondent only to people aged between 16 and 65, chosen randomly and will last between 45 and 120 minutes.

The team responsible for the interviews is headed by Ricardo Ferreira Reis, director of the Centre for Studies and Opinion Polls (CESOP) of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa. Once the interviews have been conducted, the next phase of data analysis will begin, meaning that the global results will only be known at the end of 2024.

The Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC), promoted by OECD (Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development) aims to assist governments in the assessment, monitoring and analysis of the level and distribution of adult skills. This work will allow knowing the human capital of the countries participating in this initiative.
