Cátia Tuna - Mário Soares Foundation Award Winner - EDP 2020 Foundation

Cátia Sofia Ferreira Tuna, invited Assistant Professor at Faculdade de Teologia in Lisbon and integrated researcher at Centro de Estudos de História Religiosa (CEHR) was the winner of the Mário Soares Foundation Award - EDP 2020, with the doctoral dissertation "Não sei se canto se rezo": ambivalências culturais e religiosas do fado (1926-1945)", presented to the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon and defended in public exams in March 2020.

In her research, Cátia Tuna proposed to study the nomination of fado as a prayer or prayer, "analyzing the religious elements that are recognizable to it, in the discourses in which fado says itself, considering itself to be prayer and religion, and in the divergent representations and opinions that circulated about it in public space.

Cátia Tuna holds a PhD in History (specialization in History and Culture of Religions) from the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon (2020) and a Master's degree in Theology from the Faculty of Theology of the Portuguese Catholic University (2012).
