Católica participates in the 3rd Meeting of Portuguese Higher Education Institutions in European Alliances
The Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) was at the 3rd Meeting of Portuguese Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in European Alliances, on February 28 at the Polytechnic of Cávado and Ave in Barcelos. The event was attended by 32 representatives from 16 HEIs, including Católica, as an active member of Transform4Europe.
With the theme "European Universities as the Universities of the Future", various issues were discussed, such as the governance models of these organisms and the processes related to the creation of the legal entity.
These meetings aim to institutionalise a network of Portuguese HEIs in European alliances. The meetings have been an opportunity to share good practices, through knowledge dissemination and technical support on topics such as funding, and mobility, among others. Católica has played an active role in the working groups defining the Mission and Objectives of the future network.
"This network aims to be a content provider for HEIs in European Alliances and a forum for discussion. We don't intend to be just another element in the decision-making chain, but rather to contribute to informed decision-making," explains Francisco Mendes-Palma, director of the Transform4Europe project at UCP, who attended the meeting together with João Cortez, Director of UCP's Research and Innovation Office.
The meeting was also attended by the Director of the National Erasmus+ Agency, Professor Ana Cristina Perdigão, and representatives of two university alliances, Ruaidhri Neavyn, CEO of the Regional University Network RUN-EU, and Ana Gascón Marcén, coordinator of the EGAI - UNITA project.
