Católica signs Cooperation Protocol with the Association of Friends of Santa Maria Hospital

Universidade Católica Portuguesa signed a cooperation protocol with the Association of Friends of Santa Maria Hospital (AAHSM) on 11 October.

The protocol formalised the commitment established between the AAHSM and the UCP, foreseeing the integration of volunteers from the VIDA Project - Volunteering at Católica, in Santa Maria Hospital for the development of various volunteering actions.

For Rita Paiva e Pona, coordinator of the Social Responsibility Office, "building bridges with the organizations of the community surrounding Católica strengthens our sense of mission. The integration of our students within the scope of volunteering or the Service-Learning methodology will allow a greater social awareness and immersion in projects relevant to their area of education. It is therefore with great satisfaction that we have initiated this partnership with AAHSM."

The protocol was signed following a cycle of conferences related to volunteering in healthcare, organised by AAHSM. This event was attended by Vice-Rector José Manuel Pereira de Almeida and Rita Paiva e Pona.
