Curtas 2021: Alumnus of the Escola das Artes wins Best Director Award
Mário Macedo, an alumnus of the Escola das Artes (EA), won the Best Director Award in the National Competition at the Curtas Vila do Conde Festival. In a competition that featured two other EA alumni, Skin River, he won the Kino Sound Studio Award, which guarantees the director €2,500 in services.
Skin River was also co-produced by a production company founded by EA alumni: Olhar de Ulisses by directors André Guiomar and Luís Costa. The film was also produced by Vento Forte.
In the same competition, the Escola das Artes Award (the result of a partnership between EA and the festival) for the best film was awarded to Madrugada, by Leonor Noivo.
