FFCS lecturer participates in the publication of the book ‘Mental Health and Social Work: New Perspectives’

Jorge Barbosa, Specialist Professor in the Social Work degree programme at the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences (FFCS) of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) - Braga, is one of the authors of the latest book published by UCP Editora: ‘Mental Health and Social Work: New Perspectives’.

This book, which resulted from the participation of a group of national experts, brings together contributions from social workers working in the field of mental health who combine their experience in the field with their capacity for research and critical reflection on their practices and contexts.

The first part features three pieces of research carried out by social workers that were guided by the quality standards defined for this type of research, namely collaboration with academic centres. The second part contains three articles by social workers who reflect on their professional practice in hospital departments, two in psychiatry and mental health and one in child psychiatry.

The FFCS lecturer is co-author of the chapter ‘The model of social and community mediation in the reintegration of people with addictive behaviours: Processes and results’.

The book is available on the UCP Editora website.
