Lisbon and Universidade Católica: New students highlight "perfect combination
Sitting on the grass or on the outdoor benches, gathered in small groups, the new students of Universidade Católica Portuguesa chat, laugh and take selfies. This has been the scenario of the beginning of the academic year at the Lisbon campus. Many arrive from other countries, excited with the new experience and dazzled by the city that welcomes them.
Matteo Giovanelli left his family and friends in Italy to attend the degree in Management at the Católica School of Business and Economics (CLSBE). He is an Erasmus+ student and believes he made the right choice: "It was a well thought decision. I know that Católica's Business School is a very prestigious business school. That's what I thought of when the time came to do Erasmus+."
The student still has no "concrete" plans for the future, but as he likes "technology a lot, the idea is to one day work in a start-up." He says that "the welcome has been very good", also because he has the "support of his friend Pietro" who he already knew from Italy and with whom he shares a room in Lisbon, the city that has "dazzled" him.
Pietro Nicastelo confesses that having the company of a person he already knows "made everything easier", but believes that "it will be very good to make new friends", not least because the colleagues he met in these first days were "very nice and available to help in whatever was needed."
The student has no doubts that "studying at Católica will help to ensure a better professional future and to find a good job." He still has a way to go until then, but Pietro knows he wants to "work in consultancy." That is the "dream and that's what I'm going to work for", assures the student with a smile.
In the same group we met Rebecca Morelli, also from Italy and also an Erasmus+ student at CLSBE. Extrovert and very friendly, the management student answers: "I decided to come to Católica because of the good results in the international rankings, the diversified environment and the beauty of the city of Lisbon that makes me feel at home. Lisbon and Católica, it's a perfect combination".
Determined to make the best of "this international experience, learn as much as I can and increase the contact network", the student already dreams of working as a "consultant for a large company."
