Mental Health Literacy and Psychological First Aid Workshop Cycle

Who is it for?

  • All Católica students

Why participate?

  • Acquiring psychological first aid strategies: self-help strategies and first aid skills.
How to start? And how to maintain it? Do I need to be “good at psychology” to offer first aid?
  • Identifying signs and symptoms of mental health problems as early as possible.
Am I in need of help?
  • Seeking help from a colleague, friend, family member, psychologist, family doctor, or psychiatrist as early as possible.
Is what I’m feeling enough to seek psychological support?

Which themes are included in the first workshop cycle?

  • W1: From well-being to psychological distress
  • W2: Anxiety + Academic Anxiety + Psychological First Aid
  • W3: Panic attacks + Psychological First Aid
  • W4: Depression + Psychological First Aid

When will it take place?

2nd semester 2024/2025

What can students expect?

  • These are not lectures.
  • Each workshop provides concrete strategies.
  • Participants receive certificates (attendance or training, depending on enrollment).

Soft Skills Development Curricular Unit

Who is it for?

  • 1st-year undergraduate students (and 1st-year integrated master’s students).

Why participate?

  • To develop essential soft skills for handling the challenges of this new life phase.
How can I improve my ability to handle university life and my future professional career?
  • Understand and identify emotions and thoughts for better emotional, cognitive, and behavioral management.
Is it important to understand what I’m feeling? How can I manage my emotions more effectively in daily life?
  • Build healthy relationships with others.
How can I communicate more clearly and effectively? How can I improve conflict resolution with colleagues or professors?
  • Make important life decisions thoughtfully and with awareness.
How can I think and reflect critically? What strategies can I use to anticipate the consequences of my decisions?

What can students expect?

  • This is not group psychotherapy!
  • It is an opportunity to develop soft skills.
  • It is a safe and respectful space for personal growth.
