KNOWLEDGE | Católica's polls on RTP: A partnership of four decades and the 2021 Presidential election

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to participate in the next Knowledge @CatolicaLisbon Digital Conference that will be held on April 16th at 5 p.m., under the theme "Católica's polls on RTP: A partnership of four decades and the 2021 Presidential election".

Since the stabilization of democracy in Portugal in the early 80s, RTP has a partnership with Universidade Católica Portuguesa to develop polls on the election results. Throughout this partnership, a tradition was created whereby the results are brought forward to 8 a.m. on election day on the public TV station. In a very rigorous statistical exercise, we have had the science, the art, but also the luck, to get many more things right than we missed. The most recent presidential elections were an excellent example of this partnership.

This CATÓLICA-LISBON conference, in partnership with CESOP - The Polling Centre of Universidade Católica Portuguesa, aims to share with the community how these polls are conducted, how they are presented on RTP and their importance for the University, for the TV station and for the country. The conference will host Prof. Ricardo Ferreira Reis, director of CESOP, and Dr. António José Teixeira, director of Information at RTP.
